Architecture, art, design, culture, catering, market

Its name & past
It was a public market completed in the later period of Japanese rule. Because the building was U-shaped and the passage served as a market, it was called U Market.

Its building structure
The passageway is U-shaped, and the rainwater reservoir above it helps consumers hang out while shopping and allows rainwater to be collected for reuse.

Its Present
It offers some random exhibitions for the public. However, two exhibitions are permanent: one about cooking kitchens and another about the evolution of U Market. Besides, there are also restaurants where people can enjoy the atmosphere of a living historical site.
